We are novel writers, each of us, weaving imaginative tales of our own feats of strength. With great regularity we live as if these novels we write were actually non-fiction works. Yes, sometimes we fall prey to actually believing we are alright on our own and can actually accomplish something worthwhile apart from the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Let this serve as our wakeup call. Be not like Goliath, thinking yourself strong and invincible. Remember, the arm of the flesh profits nothing. Remind yourself that apart from the Spirit of Christ we can do nothing. Oh brethren, we need the Holy Spirit to come upon us, sanctify us, strengthen us, teach us, govern us, lead us, and conform us to Jesus Christ. Will you plead with God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit today?
