When God afflicts His children in correction, He has specific aims. His purpose in the correction is to purge His children of their sin and bring them to a state of greater happiness and holiness of life. It is for their good! To the child of God, every affliction is a correction. God never sends random or unnecessary correction. So, every affliction that comes to the believer is working a particular good in his life, all according to the Father’s purposes.
Now, when God afflicts the sinner, He does so with a vengeance. God’s justice demands payment and cries out against the sinner. All His debts will be paid in full.
Psalm 75:8 “For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup with foaming wine, well mixed, and he pours out from it, and all the wicked of the earth shall drain it down to the dregs.”
God punishes the wicked according to His wrath, but this is never the case with His children. Christ has suffered all for the people of God. All our punishment was laid on Him and now we are wonderfully corrected and kept in the narrow way!
I’m homeless and I’ve had bitterness with God’s people for years Yes the body of Christ has hurt me real bad from rejection. I gave blamed them because I’m not right with God because when I ask them for help they ignore me or give me excuses to help me. The same with churches, I don’t see any compassion or love from a Christian once I MEANTION I’m homeless. It seems I’m looked down upon when I been a Christian all my life. So I need prayer and advice on how to respond to my circumstances before it destroys my whole relationship with the Father.
Never has God’s children beg for anything, God is our supplier. Those who you say are Christian’s does not fit what a child of God should be. I don’t think the ones you are talking about are a true child of God. The word says, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12. Gods word says ask , we have not because we ask not. Remember God is no respecter of anyone, what he will do for one child of God, he will do for another.
Rachel,
Your situation sounds really difficult and frustrating. But such situations are the very situations when God is so able to help and deliver. Pray and ask the Lord to do so. Ask your Father in heaven to keep you from bitterness. Ask him to provide a way to have shelter. Confess your disappointments and frustrations and sin to Him.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
Psalm 94:19 When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.
Also, remember that not all who profess to follow Christ actually do follow Christ. Those “Christians” that may have rejected you in the past, may not be actual Christians. Christians, by the grace of God, are compassionate and kind, desiring to help the needy. And even if some you’ve encountered are true believers, you cannot allow their actions to keep you from pursuing the Lord with all your heart. People sin. God doesn’t sin. People are deceived and deceitful. God is truth. People will fail you. God never fails His people.
I will pray for you right now.
