On Vacation

For those that are wondering why the posting has been slow, I left for Alaska with my family this past Tuesday.  I will be back in Texas next Wednesday and back to work Thursday, March 1st.

It is beautiful up here and very cold.  The high yesterday was around 17 and the low around 0.  It is also a bit windy, so with the windchill factor it felt like -10 last night.  Oh, there is snow everywhere, certainly NOT like home.

Are you CRAZY?! Why would you leave the warmth of Texas for the frigid climate of Alaska?

Enjoy your vacation. :) It would be neat to see Alaska, but I’d rather go when it’s a little bit warmer…we get enough cold weather here in Canada.

Yep, we hit up a river in Willow, AK Saturday morning. The temp was -25 on the river bed and we went about 34 miles roundtrip. It was great fun, but very cold. I had my brother-in-law’s artic gear on and felt pretty warm most of the way.
