Well, I guess it isn’t much of a surprise that PepperJam’s blog and Shoemoney.com are leading the way here. I am surprised that Darren’s blog, Problogger.net isn’t doing any better than it is. I also felt that choosing several of today’s top blogs would cause a more even outlay of your votes, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Did you cast your vote?
Do you think this is a valid representation?
What is it about Shoemoney’s blog or PepperJam’s blog that would cause them to stomp the competition in this vote?
When should I declare the Lee Dodd Dot Com Blogger of the Year?
I think it’s pretty value the winners are pretty much right up there in my books.
Although…. perhaps its partly impacted by who decided to link into the poll from their blogs
I decided not to not because I didn’t like the idea - but because I was aware I’d linked to a number of other awards lately that I was nominated for and didn’t want to push the self promotion too far.
Still - I think you’ve picked some great sites and they all are winners in their own ways.
‘I think it’s pretty value’ should have been ‘I think it’s pretty valid’…
Darren,
I completely agree with you that the poll is pretty accurate and also about the impact of a bit of self promotion. Fun stuff!
Lee
very much so!
When you hold a voting contest its all bout whats popular and what the buzz is…. it seems PJ and Shoe always keep buzzing topics which keeps their sites on peoples minds so would in turn give them more votes.
You also termed the poll as “best affiliate marketing blog” not “best blog”. I definately would have voted for Darren if I thought this was a general blogging award, but his blog has little to do with affiliate marketing (compared to the others).
I agree with Matt, Problogger is on the top of my ‘must read’ list, but as “best affiliate marketing blog” it didn’t fit well enough to get my vote.
I think you should declare your Blogger of the Year when you hit your 300th vote?
I remember voting pretty much for the same reason that Jon said. Where is the voting going on btw. I remember I voted, but can’t remember where to find those results
