Ever Used Business Cards?

I am right in the middle of creating business cards for the moderators of one of my forums so that they can hand them out to people they meet of like interest. I am printing them through VistaPrint which will prove to be rather inexpensive, my moderators are eagerly anticipating their arrival, it will provide cheap promotion and encourage them to do word-of-mouth advertising on my behalf, and it doesn’t take a lot of my time to get this done.

I figured I would share this because it might even serve as a cool Christmas present to your team while helping to promote your site!

Yep, I’ve got some I hand out. They’re a great way for people to remember your name. Also, I put my blog’s url on it and have picked up a few new readers that way.

I’m a huge fan of offline marketing.

Actually I have a guy down on Harry Hines in Dallas, and last time I went to him he did me 5000 full color cards for $99.

VistaPrint is pretty cool. They have a mean operation going - it’s interesting to follow their marketing strategy as they are really good at getting those back-end sales.

One word of caution: If you do the free cards (which can be tempting!), you have to be careful to opt out of whatever junk they have you opted into in the checkout process. AFAIK, you have to literally uncheck boxes that are checked by default. It’s icky, but I guess it works for them. If you aren’t careful, you will get a recurring charge on your credit card. Eek!
