Google’s New Home Page

I was surprised to see a new Google homepage this morning with the new link to Google Videos and some nice ajax incorporated. I wonder if it is a test page or if it is the final outcome. Google is finally showing more products on the homepage along with the java script popup when clicking on more. It is fun to see the simplest homepage in the world change over a period of time.

Peach, if when you go to Google you are taken to your countries’ version of Google, be sure to click “Go to Google.com” - it seems that it’s only appearing on the .com at the moment.

Yeah Ashley I know what you mean but I’m still not getting it, G is probably geo-taretting that page to US visitors.

Not many people have noticed it but apparently the traffic for Google Video went up quite a bit due to this little change.
The pop-up isn’t AJAX by the way, it’s still called JavaScript :P

Nice :)

Have they ajaxed the move from the hompage to the search results too? It seems way faster than before.

And they’ve still not made it XHTML/HTML standards compliant! I suppose when you have so many visitors every few seconds the removal of a few quote marks would save some bandwidth.
