New Adsense Ad Units with Images

Google Adsense has launched a new ad platform where an image would take the place of an ad within an ad unit. The images, which are generic, and not advertising a particular company act as the links in an ad link unit do. You can click on the image and it will take you to another page offering multiple links to choose from.

Here is a sample “Vertical Image” Ad Unit:

This is another one of many interesting experiments Google is working on lately. I am sure they will closely monitor the CTR and conversion statistics to determine if this will be a healthy upgrade to bring out of beta. I also heard through Jensense that this beta program is open to international publishers as well.
