It was this last Thursday morning, the first day of a new month, when I decided it was time to restructure the forum layout at Best-Board.Com. I spent about 30 minutes chatting with the staff and reading their thoughts about what they envisioned, and then I followed that up with 1.5 hours of mapping things out on paper. Through that time I called on the aid of my wife (the brains of the family) and one of my assistant admin. This was a brain-tirin process, but one well worth it.
After finalizing the layout on paper, then came the fun part. Over the next two hours, I created new forum, renamed old forums, and moved forums and caegories all over the place. After that was complete, the staff and I began moving threads to their appropriate new home. While this took some team work and about 4 hours of my day, the end result is amazing. I feel the forum is now much better organized and easier to navigate, and wil provide plenty of freedom as we continue to grow. Come check out the new look!
