Amazon.com + Contextual Advertising? (Part 2)

I saw this on Dave Taylor’s blog AskDaveTaylor.Com and wanted to post it up for my readers to see. I thought the following comments were quite helpful to shed some light.

Q10 How many Associates does Amazon have?
A10 Hundreds of thousands.

Q11 When did the beta test begin and when will the program be announced?
A11 Amazon Associates began testing the program on January 27, but we are not disclosing a future timeline for the program.

I am very interested in what these guys are up to and hope to find out more information soon!

One problem I have with the Amazon affilliate program is that they have a different program and a different site for various countries and regions.

I can see why they would want a seperate site for the US and say the UK but it doesn’t help me as a site owned when I have a healthy split of traffic between the two.

If Amazon does contextual advertising, I would hope that they have a method in place to address this.
