I am excited to announce that I am officially beginning my first case study of a new forum Rex and I have opened. I plan to walk you through our progress and changes with the forum step-by-step. You will get to see how I build a successful forum from the ground up. You will see the money I invest, the actual process of events, and the growth that takes place as we build it up. I plan to make 2-3 posts weekly about this case study, so stay tuned!
The forum is located at http://www.tripboards.com - Trip Boards.
This is a forum that is somewhat related to our Cruise Forum, so we will have a slight advantage over some start ups. What you will see however, is that the number of members that come over to help populate the new forum with posts and threads, is something I would urge any new forum start up to duplicate on their own through friends and family. The fact is that new message boards need content and activity. When you don’t have incoming traffic, then you must improvise. I recommend this by gathering friends and family to help do this versus paid posting. In this case we won’t have to go to friends and family, but rather will pull from our friends at an existing forum.
I hope you find this coming series helpful and I wish you much success! Let the journey begin…
Good luck with the new venture
Great Idea!
I really need some great tips to starting up a forum ect. I have a small forum, roughly 1600 members and 45k posts that I hope to grow larger.
Wow, can’t wait to read about this. We are starting a new forum Architecture Exchange and I hope to be able to use this info to help grow that site.
Thanks as usual for the great content.
