Networking!

I am learning more and more as I attend conferences and chat with folks online that networking is of ultimate importance. You need to make it a point to participate in online forums such as theadminzone.com or sitepoint.com for the purpose of learning how to be successful, learning the technical goodies, and making friends or contacts. I really can’t be clear enough when I say this. Network, Network, Network!

- If I hadn’t networked with Joel Comm, I wouldn’t be at the Affiliate Summit 2006 for FREE!
- If I hadn’t networked with Rex Bowden, we wouldn’t have started CruiseLineForums.Com which in 9 short months has grown to 3,000 members and over 200,000 posts.
- If I hadn’t networked with Kathy Kelley, I wouldn’t have a true friend that I can share ideas with and get constructive criticism as well as offer help to her in return.
- If I hadn’t networked with Jeremy Schoemaker, I wouldn’t have found AzoogleAds when I did and that would have cost me $25,000+.

I think you get the point by now. Often times when I network with others, I am able to come up with creative ideas that I might not have thought of otherwise. If you can’t get to conferences, spend more time getting to know folks online through forums, online groups, IM chats, and email.

Best. Tip. Ever.

Networking within your niche will bring more success then anything else. I’m horible at keeping in contact with friends and family, but I make SURE i email my bicycle related webmaster friends on a weekly basis.

Now if only i could get yahoo messenger installed on my new mac so i can keep in-contact with my forum admin friends!
