Get Top Quality Design For Little Money

Most of us already know that graphics for your site can cost a pretty penny, especially when they are cutstom nit-picked designed. But there are easier ways to get your custom look for a fair price and then there is even a more inexpensive way to get it done. Here are the 2.

1. Go to Sitepoint.com forums and enter a contest for the image you need done. It costs $9.95 to list a thread there and then depending on your design the cost of the contest can be from $50.00 and up. Now this isn’t a bad deal but it can get much more inexpensive by going the #2 route.

2. Go to Sitepoint.com forums and browse through all of the threads. And in most of the contest threads there are 4+ designers making designs that people request. And usually only 1 will win the contest leaving the others with work done and nothing to show for it. So what I suggest is find those designs you like that didn’t win the contest and PM them. Ask them to make small edits to fit your site and offer them around 35% of the original contest prize. Now you have a great custom design for a very inexpensive price.

Voila!

I’ve had a lot of luck at Sitepoint.com and designoutpost.com as well. DesignOutpost.com has a listing fee of 10% and is a bit more expensive, but the designers are top notch.

[...] In the last post from the series I discussed the establishing of your forums within the forum. You need to keep it simple and limit the forums to 8-10 in the beginning. Before we get in to populating your forum and the best methods to do that, I wanted to touch on design. Earlier this year you might have read a post titled “Get Top Quality Design For Little Money”, and I feel this needs to be touched upon once again. [...]
