I am going to brag on SitePoint’s Contest Forum today. Any new forum admin needs to know the resources readily available. Most forum admins I know are not graphic artists or web designers. If that is the case (as it is for me as well), you will often need to hire someone to create your logo or design a forum header or create soe images. One of my favorite places to do this is at SitePoint. If you have a limited budget you can still get excellent work done. It is safe for the forum admin as you get to judge which work you like and want to keep. It is nice for the participating designers as they get constructive criticism and a chance to make some money. I have used a SitePoint contest on many occassions and I have gotten logos developed that would have cost me hundreds of dollars, for $100 or less. I encourage you to check this out and make good use of it. Here you can see a contest I currently have running for a new forum that my brother-in-law is starting.
